PureTools PT-TOOL-100 4K 18Gbps HDMI Mini Signal Generator and Display Emulator
The HDMI test and troubleshooting tool PT-TOOL-100 can on the one hand generate signals to verify a display's capabilities and on the other hand emulate a display to analyze incoming HDMI signals. The tool supports HDMI version 2.0 with a max. bandwidth of 18Gbps and HDCP up to version 2.2. The signal generation is controlled completely on the device itself to set the output's EDID and HDCP version via DIP switches. The display emulation allows for the analysis of an incoming HDMI signal with LED indicators for HDCP version and TMDS / 5V signal link. The extremely compact and lightweight enclosure is perfectly suited to check the realities of an installation directly on-site.

The PT-TOOL-100 is an HDMI test tool, combining the two essential diagnostic features of signal generation and display emulation / signal analytics into a very compact and portable chassis. It is fully compatible with HDMI version 2.0, supporting 18Gbps of bandwidth for resolutions up to 4K / UltraHD 60Hz incl. 4:4:4 color subsampling and HDCP up to version 2.2. Its male HDMI-A output connector can be plugged directly into the HDMI input port of the display device you want to run test signals on. The male HDMI-A input connector can be inserted into the output port of an HDMI source device to emulate a display connection and analyze its incoming signal. It uses a micro USB port for power supply (5V / 1A) which is only needed when used as signal generator. In display emulation mode, it is directly powered via HDMI, if the 5V output from the HDMI source device is sufficient.

In signal generator mode,PT-TOOL-100 can be used as a test signal generator to quickly analyze the actual capabilities of the connected display device and thus avoid unpleasant surprises when the actual source device is connected.
It is able to generate a variety of signal combinations. These can range from resolutions of 1080p@60Hz up to 4K@60Hz (4:4:4) and can include variable HDCP content (no HDCP / v1.4 / v2.2), all selectable by an array of just four DIP switches. No software or additional cables / hardware is needed, perfect for a quick checkup directly on-site. The different signal combinations show up as different color patterns on the tested screen. The output audio format will be 2-channel PCM in any constellation.

In display emulation mode, PT-TOOL-100 mimics the function of a display device and analyzes incoming HDMI signals from the connected HDMI source device. It features two LED indicators with the first one showing the presence of a 5V as well as TMDS signal or both at the same time. The second LED indicates the presence of HDCP v1.4, v2.2 or no HDCP at all. All video and audio formats of the HDMI 2.0 specification are supported.

The combination of a small form factor with just 75 x 22 x 19mm and a light weight of 65g makes it very useful for AV installers to keep it with them all the time and troubleshoot and resolve issues directly on site.
