FiberX FX-I550 USB-A AOC Fiber Optic Extension Cable

The FX-I550-050 is a 50.00m long AOC hybrid extension cable with an outer diameter of 4.5mm. It is compliant with the USB 3.1 (Gen2) specification and therefore suitable for data transfer rates of up to 10Gbps. The cable is equipped with a male USB-A connector on one side and a female USB-A socket on the other, both featuring gold plated precision contacts. Due to its hybrid construction it provides complete shielding against electromagnetic interference and a low attenuation for perfect transmission quality. The cable does not require an external power supply; it is directly powered via the USB port.

FiberX - When Distance, Quality and Bandwidth are Essential

The FX-I550 USB-A extension cables included in the FiberX series from PureLink are designed for optimal transmission of USB signals over long distances. The hybrid construction, consisting of fiber optic and copper conductors allows significantly longer cable lengths than conventional copper extension cables. This is enabled by transmitting the USB data via fiber optics, which are free of electromagnetic influences / interference and is only supplemented by copper wires for the transmission of power. Due to this hybrid design, the cables of this series are available for very long cable runs between 10.00m and 50.00m, all while being able to be used in complex environments.
The cables comply with the USB standard SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps (also called SuperSpeed+ or USB 3.0 / 3.1 / 3.2 Gen2) and are able to transfer data at up to 10Gbps or 900MB per second.
They are not compatible with legacy USB specifications, such as USB 2.0 / 1.1.
The small cable diameter of only 4.5mm allows an extremely tight bending radius of up to 45mm (static) or 90mm (dynamic), which makes them especially relevant for laying / installation in narrow environments, such as the back of a rack.
The USB-A plugs / sockets on both sides are equipped with gold-plated precision contacts on the one hand and a nickel-plated plug shell on the other hand. These refinements make the connectors unsusceptible to corrosion and thus guarantee a permanently functioning data transmission.
Due to its hybrid construction, this cable cannot be used for USB Power Delivery profiles. The maximum power transmitted is 5V with 0.9A for a maximum of 4.5W charging potential.
The intended use of this cable is the extension of connections for USB huddle cams and/or other USB conference devices, such as webcams or digital conference phones with the operating hardware located far away, e.g. in a separate rack room. These long distances can now be bypassed effortlessly and in combination with the AV connection.
